When cleaning waterproof and breathable jackets, it is best to choose hand washing to avoid damaging the membrane. Machine washing can damage the waterproof and breathable membrane, reducing its effectiveness.
To hand wash the jacket, dissolve a neutral detergent with warm water no more than 30 degrees and soak the jacket for about 5 minutes. After washing with hot water, use a soft brush to scrub the dirty parts of the jacket, being careful not to use too much force, which can damage the water repellent treatment on the surface of the jacket.
Rinse the jacket thoroughly with plenty of clean water, making sure to remove all detergent residue. Do not wring the jacket, as this can cause the waterproof and moisture-permeable membrane to tear or the clothing to deform.
The jacket should be placed directly in a natural environment to dry, without twisting hard. Avoid sun exposure, as it can accelerate the aging process of the jacket. When ironing, use a low temperature, as the lining of jackets and the waterproof and moisture-permeable layer are not resistant to high temperatures. Ironing at high temperatures can cause the clothes to deform, discolor, and age.
