In July 2025, our entire staff came together for a five-day team-building journey to Chengdu-a city where ancient culture, modern innovation, and natural beauty harmoniously meet. This trip was more than a break from work; it was a shared adventure that deepened our connections and strengthened our foundation for future success.
Exploring Chengdu: A Blend of History, Nature, and Innovation
Our journey began with a stroll through Kuanzhai Alley, where old courtyards meet stylish cafés, blending Qing dynasty charm with contemporary flair. At People's Park, we witnessed Chengdu's famously relaxed pace of life and enjoyed a cup of local tea at the iconic Heming Teahouse, a quintessential Chengdu experience.
We then ventured to Dujiangyan, a world-renowned irrigation system over 2,000 years old-an engineering marvel that still functions today. Nearby, the serene Nanqiao Bridge and Jiezi Ancient Town offered peaceful scenery and insight into traditional Sichuan architecture and lifestyle.
A highlight of the trip was our visit to the Leshan Giant Buddha, the largest stone-carved Buddha in the world, where we admired its scale and spiritual significance. Later, we enjoyed the riverside charm of Huanglongxi Ancient Town, known for its Qing-style streets, traditional snacks, and relaxing teahouses by the water.
Cultural Immersion and Curiosity
We also explored the fascinating Sanxingdui Museum, home to mysterious ancient artifacts like bronze masks, tree sculptures, and sun disks-evidence of an advanced Bronze Age civilization that rewrites much of what we know about Chinese history.
The visit to the Sichuan Museum added depth to our understanding of local culture, with exhibits spanning calligraphy, ceramics, Tibetan relics, and more.
One of the most heartwarming experiences was our morning at the Chengdu Panda Base, where we observed giant pandas and red pandas in their natural habitats. It was a joyful and memorable stop that brought smiles to everyone's faces.
Evenings and Unforgettable Moments
Our nights were just as enriching. From exploring Chunxi Road's vibrant commercial scene to relaxing at Jiuyanqiao, one of Chengdu's liveliest nightlife areas, our team enjoyed the city's dynamic energy. We also visited Jinli Ancient Street, where traditional crafts, lanterns, and street performances brought us closer to Chengdu's festive spirit.
At the creative park Eastern Suburb Memory (Dongjiao Jiyi), we saw how industrial heritage meets contemporary art-symbolic of transformation and innovation, values we share in our own work at Loto Garment.
